At
what point should I consult Repro Graphics about my project?
As early in the planning stages as possible. We may be able to offer
advice that will save you time and money. To consult with a customer
service representative about your next project call 752-COPY.
How much will this cost?
To determine the cost of a printing job, our estimators need to know
the following: The size of the final product, the number of ink colors,
the kind of paper, the number of pages, how the piece folds or is bound
and any other special printing and finishing treatments such as embossing,
die-cuts, perforation, etc. If you need help in answering these questions
schedule a joint consultation with a designer and an estimator. There
is no charge for this service. If you have a budget to work with, let
us know. If you have a sample of a similar publication you would like
to use as a starting point for discussion bring it along. Call 752-COPY
to schedule your appointment.
How can I decide if my job
should print on offset presses or run on high-speed copiers?
The process that you use will depend on several factors including quantity,
quality, cost, time, and kind of paper.
Your project
is normally a traditional offset print job if one or more of the following
apply:
• Prints in colored ink
• More than 500 copies required
• Special paper is required (carbonless, colored, special finish,
extra heavy, gloss or matte coating)
• Photographs are present (full color or black and white)
• Final size is larger or smaller than 8.5 x 11
• Copier quality is not acceptable
• Front and back printing on carbonless paper is required
Offset printing and high-speed copying are available at our main production
facility at 3820 Chiles Road; high-speed copying is also done at two
Quick Copy Centers located on campus. Our customer service representatives
at any of these locations are able to help you determine the most practical
and cost-effective way to run your job.
Can I use the University Seal
in my publication?
To establish an identity with the campus it is highly recommended that
you implement the UC Davis word mark, and not the University Seal. For
further instruction on the appropriate use of the University Seal and
Cal Aggie marks visit: http://pubguide.ucdavis.edu/
